This week's prompt is: our song. This prompt may be interpreted as broadly as possible. It might apply to Our Song, the singing competition/variety show in which Xiao Zhan took part. It might apply to the song Lan Wangji composes for Wei Wuxian, whether the composition itself or any instance of its appearance in any of the canons. It might apply to performances by any combination of the actors or voice actors involved in the creation of the live action drama, donghua, or audio drama. It might apply to any scene in any canon in which one or more characters play an instrument, sing, or whistle in order to come to the aid of any other character(s) (including those points at which, at least in the drama, Jin Guangyao channels his guqin playing to aid Su She's dizi playing in causing havoc). It might also apply to any moment at which Wei Wuxian uses his dizi to channel resentful cultivation, either directly or through Yin Hu Fu, to control ghosts and/or ghost puppets. There simply needs to be a musical component and the involvement of at least two people, at least one of whom has a tie to a version of the MDZS canon. If it is only one person with said tie (like in the Our Song singing competition example), you'll need to find a way to make the "our" applicable for MDZS purposes.

Since here in the US, the night will be disrupted with fireworks (I'm an animal lover, and while I like the sparkle of professional fireworks in the sky, I loathe the noisy ones that yearly traumatize millions of animals across the country), I decided to find something good in the situation. So, this week's prompt is: signal flare.

Because I completely blanked on it last week, this week's prompt is in honor of Xiazhi, the ancient Chinese celebration of the summer solstice. As expected of its association with the sun, this day represents the peak of Yang energy, and is traditionally associated with light, warmth, and vitality. In the world of MDZS/CQL, with its focus on cultivation, Yang energy of course has additional importance. Feel free to use any aspect of Xiazhi or Yang energy as the inspiration for your drabble.

As one of our recurring annual prompts, drabble sequences and drabble series are allowed. These formats are explained in this post, while the standard drabble formats are explained in the community rules.

In honor of the date, this week's prompt celebrates Chunfen (春分), the traditional observance of the Vernal Equinox in China. This is the fourth of the twenty four solar terms of a lunisolar calendar first organized in the Warring States period and later refined during the Han Dynasty; this year, it started on March 20 and ends on April 3. From an astronomical standpoint, both the vernal and autumnal equinoxes are when the axial tilt of the earth is neutral relative to the sun, rendering the periods of light and dark as close to equal as they get. In the Chinese observance, this represents the balance and harmony in nature, and Chunfen is a time of renewal and growth. This was the time of planting in agriculture, of eating fresh spring vegetables and making herbal remedies, both believed to boost health and align with the season's energy. As with Xiazhi and Dongzhi, Chunfen is closely tied to the concepts of yin and yang, and is a period in which they are believed to be not only in balance, but working together. It is a rich observance to draw on for inspiration for writing this fandom.

As one of our recurring annual prompts, drabble sequences and drabble series are allowed. These formats are explained in this post, while the standard drabble formats are explained in the community rules.

You have until midnight your time on Friday, April 4, to answer this prompt. This is a two-week term in accordance with the length of the solar period itself.
