This is the post where you can leave suggestions for future drabble prompts. Prompts should generally be in the form of single words or short phrases, though I will be polling the community to find out interest in multimedia prompts. I will also try to get up a Google spreadsheet with planned prompts for cross-referencing, but for now, don't worry about whether you are suggesting a prompt someone else has already suggested. If you come to this post after the community has been established for a while, you can search the tags to see if a prompt has already been done.
Leave up to ten prompts in a comment to this entry (more than ten and I find I lose track). You may leave as many comments as you like.

Date: 2021-04-09 09:06 pm (UTC)I found this version in several different places on the internet, but without the name of the translator.
I thought it might be by Arthur Waley, but apparently it is not.

(The following poetry quotations from female poets are translated by Kenneth Rexroth and Ling Chung.)
If I had consented to death / My bones would have been buried long ago. (Cai Yan, 18 Verses Sung to a Tatar Reed Whistle)
It is easier to get priceless jewels / Than to find a man with a true heart. (Yu Xuanji, Advice to a Neighbor Girl)
Afraid of people's questions, / I will swallow my tears / And pretend to be happy. / Deceit. Deceit. Deceit. (Tang Wan, To the tune "The Phoenix Hairpin")
