Of Yanling, the less said the better.

Cangse was easier to bear, so in tune with her own luck she hardly needed any guidance to find it. Her life had been short, but tremendously happy.

Xingchen's troubled fate looms on the horizon of his future like a storm ready to break.

"No one who leaves this mountain can ever come back," she warns. "You must not come back."

But he was never very good at listening to the truth behind her words, and she's not surprised when he turns up again with his terrible fate leaning heavily against his shoulder.

I liked the imagery you used here, especially that last sentence

Yeah, even by MDZS standards, Xingchen always struck me as particularly unlucky :/ poor man just wanted to save the world.
