The smoke curling off the campfire turned the treeline hazy. The sun was still orange as it sank behind the horizon, but it was a rotten color.

Wen Ning watched the wisps fade into the air. In another lifetime, he would have been coughing and weeping—he'd been sickly at times, as a child—but death meant that he couldn't blink away the gritty smoke even if he wanted to.

Wei Wuxian cleared his throat and waved the air in front of his face. "Ah, Wen Ning?"

"Yes?"

Wei Wuxian stared into the fire. "Do you ever miss your sister?"

"Sometimes. Often."

Love the description of the campfire & sunset before snapping to a closer pov--it's a good way to set the scene, and it gives the drabble a very contemplative feel.
