Family letters are worth ten thousand pieces: Dead Letters

Title: Dead Letters
Author: Rana Eros
Word Count: 100
Character: Wei Wuxian
Rating: Teen and Up, referenced genocide, suicidal ideation, dark imagery, the Burial Mounds basically
Summary: Wei Wuxian gives the Burial Mounds all that he has. But not what he's lost.
Author's Notes: Betaed by Eliza.

~~~~
There are things Wei Wuxian doesn't write here. Scratching in the dirt, or drawing in blood on stone—the only ink and paper he has—he writes in bleak code. Home becomes vengeance. Sect becomes blood. He never names his ghosts, not in this open grave. He buries thoughts of the living.
Instead, he perfects talismans to make the Wen pay, where sorry becomes death. Once he has avenged Yunmeng Jiang, once he's made amends, he hopes the ghosts can finally rest.
Maybe he'll rest, too.
Even in the sunshine, it's still creepy and very sad.
This is so so so good. It's just what a drabble needs to do: every single word counts.
So dark. I love your imagery if burying the living.
Such a dark time.
A clever twist on the prompt!
You did an awesome job setting the (unsettling) tone with just a few words.
Also "once he's made amends" someone please stop this man from finding more things to blame himself for ;_;
